For doors, check whether the strike plate screws are loose; a Phillips head and five minutes will tell you if it’s a simple fix.

Where DIY goes wrong: Abodu windows use a constant-force balance under spring tension. Removing the sash without releasing that tension first can send metal components into the room at speed. We’ve seen cracked drywall and one trip to urgent care. The V3 tilt-turn hardware also requires a specific sequence to remove - do it out of order and the sash drops free from the hinge side.
