Signs Your CGI Windows & Doors Is Failing

• The sash drops or won’t stay open. This points to a failed balance assembly, which in CGI’s double-hung units is a block-and-tackle system rated for 10,000 cycles. In Mountain View’s salt-air corridor near the bay, we’ve seen these fail closer to 7,000 cycles due to corrosion on the pulley axle.
• Visible moisture between the glass panes. The insulated glass unit (IGU) seal has failed. • Daylight or draft at the meeting rail or sill. The weatherstrip has compressed beyond recovery or the sill track has worn low enough that the sash no longer seats. Compression-set weatherstrip is common after five to seven years of direct south or west exposure in Mountain View’s climate.
